beh, i wouldn't be surprised if the government and the beeb are in this together. both will ultimately benefit in various sneaky ways. they'll get loads of public interest by having media battles, then they'll both look big by coming to a resolution (minus a scapegoat or three), then the beeb, having conned the public into believing it's independant again, will staunchily support it's new best friend - the governement, just in time for the next election!
