Why I need you all to comment / text me with your name and number )

Please can you assume I've not got your number (unless you're [livejournal.com profile] devalmont). Text your name to me, or comment (I'll leave them screened). MY number hasn't changed, just the phone!

Mine is here if you've not currently got it - viewable to my lj friends only :P.

As [livejournal.com profile] devalmont has mentioned on his lj, we might be on the lookout for a new housemate in the next month or so. If you're in Cambridge (or want to be), need a double bedroom (or would like one!) situated just over Mill Road bridge and feel you'd be happy sharing with us, comment below.

We're not certain of when (or indeed if it's for definate) [livejournal.com profile] temlekin will be going but it's been mentioned so we're testing the water.

Comments, as always, screened and I'll be happy to leave them that way if you're looking on the sly. Feel free to ask any questions.

Ebb x

shared bathroom
located a stones throw from the Earl of Beaconsfield (address on application!) just off Mill Road
current residents are two Gothy happy types who like loud music
council tax is paid on a rotating basis atm, but would work out at £40 ish per month

Both the new O2 number and the old Vodafone number are now operational so you can get me on either. If you don't have them and want them, they're listed on this post here.

If you can't see that either you aren't logged in or you aren't friended so comment here and we'll sort it out!

Just to say thank you, in no particular order, to the many wonderful icon makers out there who have shared the following icons (which took a bit of searching for, hence the post!):

Cut due to excessive Dita, not all entirely worksafe and rather heavy on the dial up! )

Feel free to visit their sites.

All the above images linked from my userpic space - if you want them, take them from their rightful owners and comment and credit as necessary!

Well, some interesting fare amongst my eljay buddies today. Mostly the following snippets.

A cool BBC news link, nabbed from [livejournal.com profile] mutualdesire:

East Anglian Ambulance Service has started the national "In case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign.

"All people have to do is store the word "ICE" in their mobile phone address books and put the next of kin's number against it," said a spokesman.

"This is the person to be contacted quickly 'In Case of Emergency' by ambulance and hospital staff."

Falklands hero Simon Weston is helping the ambulance service to publicise the idea across the UK.

He said: "It's so simple that everyone should do it as soon as they hear our message."

Nabbed this from [livejournal.com profile] sapphrine... please take note. TELL ME if you're using Frienditto. Quoted from [livejournal.com profile] sapphrine:

"Please all go to the following link and read the information on Frienditto and what it does and then check your friendslist for vulnerabilities. I have worked it through and there is no one on my friendslist currently who is a confirmed user of this product however, if you do use it, i would really appreciate it if you tell me about it please. If I was to ever find any of my friends limited entries up publicly archived I would not be impressed."

The Black Priory is currently experiencing technical difficulties. All contact via landlines or mobiles please, the 'puters are offline - more or less. I'll be quite surprised if this works!

I've just been having a rather serious chat with my sister. Being that I've recently been mugged, and previously someone attempted to grab me and drag me off, my sister and I had the following conversation:

Debs said:

Was just reading through your journal, reminded me - I read something the other day. They interviwed some convicted rapists about what they looked for in a potential victim...some good advice follows.

DON'T walk about looking at your phone / watch / looking in your bag - you look distracted.

If someone approaches you from the front hold your hands out in front of you and SHOUT stay away / dont come closer etc. They look for VICTIMS who will act like victims.

SO make lots of noise and struggle like hell.

They generally go for women with long hair, in a ponytail so they can grab it.

Carry an umbrella or something - they dont like to be attacked back!!!!! But something long - keys dont scare them.

They will only stick around for 2-3 minutes if you put up a struggle - cos they wil be caught if they stick around much longer - so remember that!
