As of Friday I'm now a Brummie lass... minus accent!
My wonderful father, after a week of night shifts and a total of 2 hours sleep, helped the equally spiffy![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sapphrine pack the van, then drove us down to Brum (arduous 7 hour journey) and assisted sapphrine, whiterrabbit, Ronan, Jo and myself in the unpacking of said van. A special thanks goes to both whiterrabbit (for voluntarily putting himself in a less than savoury situation for my sake) and to sapphrine (who has MORE than surpassed himself with his kindness, support, encouragement, patience and general ability to make me smile when I've wanted to cry) also.
whiterrabbit and my Dad nattered like old ladies on Friday night at Edwards, whilst I danced the night away. It was great to see my father so relaxed and happy - I think he truly sees how settled I feel here, and understands why I've relocated fully now. I managed to get up in time to cook him brekkie and brew up some tea before he departed for Carlisle once more on Saturday. I miss my family rather badly atm, but regular phone calls will stave that slightly.
I hardly had time to unpack my books (trust me, only the start... I have a LOT of boxes!) before going and meeting Dave, Claire and Jo at the Mercat on Saturday night.sapphrine and myself were joining them on Sunday for a photo shoot so it was a meet and greet pre that for me. Whilst I was initally apprehensive, Dave and Jo did their utmost to put me at ease, whilst Claire and sapprhine chatted merrily too! Sunday was a rush at first, but on arriving at Lickey Hills with the gang, I had a wonderful day. For an idea of what we shot, take a peek at Dave's website, which we will soon be part of. There were some gorgeous, some funny and some not-so-flattering photos taken but I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it, and am very glad I went along!
Now then, to today.
I've been in Corporate Whore mode today. Temping agencies. Basically, I've a couple of follow up interviews to attend, and I shall continue on my job hunt tomorrow by visiting those agencies I missed today. Oh joy! All in all, it went rather well. I'm feeling particularly positive about Prestige, an agency I thoroughly recommend.
And last but not least, Zen. My lovely lil black fluff ball is settling in rather well, and has chosen Ronan as his cushion. He's slowly learning that m y pillow is precisely that.. MINE... and that he now has his own. I'm being rather cruel and insisting that he sleeps there and there only whilst I'm in bed.
At my house I've not got net access yet... so I'm currently curled up insapphrine's leather chair, merrily typing away.

Also, for those who know her, on Wednesday it's Ali's birthday.
Anyway, I'm off to fuss over my love. I've had a long and tiring day and need to snuggle and be snuggled back.
