Morning all - bit of an odd one today. Is there, to anybodys knowledge, any truth in this:
Lipstick Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!
If there is a female you care anything about, share this with her. I did!!!!! I am also sharing this with the males on my email list, because they need to tell the females THEY care about as well!
(Or in my case, wear lipstick too!)
Recently a brand called "Red Earth" decreased their prices from $67 to $9.90. It contained lead. Lead is a chemical which causes cancer.
(NB - I know Red Earch did recently go bust and reduce their goods in Debenhams... they've wonderful liquid eyeliner which is almost plasticy and doesn't smudge!... ok, back to the questionable alert...)
The Brands which contain lead are:
1. CHRISTIAN DIOR
2. LANCOME
3. CLINIQUE
4. Y.S.L
5. ESTEE LAUDER
6. SHISEIDO
7. RED EARTH (Lip Gloss)
8. CHANEL (Lip Conditioner)
9. MARKET AMERICA-MOTNES LIPSTICK.
The higher the lead content, the greater the chance of causing cancer.
After doing a test on lipsticks, it was found that the Y.S.L. lipstick contained the most amount of lead.
Watch out for those lipsticks which are supposed to stay longer. If your lipstick stays longer, it is because of the higher content of lead.
Here is the test you can do yourself:
1. Put some lipstick on your hand.
2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3. If the lipstick color changes to black then you know the lipstick contains lead.
Please send this information to all your girlfriends, wives and female family members.
This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center Dioxin Carcinogens causes cancer, especially breast cancer.
I'm never sure about such things and whilst I have the time to post this, I've no idea where to look to find out whether or not it's a hoax. Put behind a cut for those of you who detest such things!
Confirmed as a hoax so watch out for it and DON'T pay it any heed if it comes your way!

Lead used to be used in cosmetics in the 16th centuary, mainly the white paint that was used for faces. I honestly cannot see it being used in cosmetics today. Also lipsticks have to be safe to eat, as the average woman will eat about 4-6 lipsticks in her lifetime.
I've also never heard of lead reacting with gold.
I 'think' this is likely to be a hoax. The brands mentioned are big brands, ones that 'in theory' should be using very good ingredients. I find it highly unlikely that they would use lead. Mind you, it doesn't mention any UK companies, or MAC!

A breakthrough in modern physics, gold the renowned inert material reacting with lead! Alchemists everywhere take heed :)
And what if it was black lipstick anyway? ;)
