Well, had a wonderful time attempting to show Richard the more interesting parts of Carlisle. He and Jo stayed over on Saturday night, and stayed with us for Sunday lunch - they went away with recipes for Sticky Toffee Pudding!

The long version? Met them both at the train station @ 11am on Saturday (thanks to Jo's mum for giving them a lift through and a huge hug to my dad for being friendly and chatty to them both all weekend from the second we picked them up) and headed back here for coffee and to dump bags. Mum dropped us in town again on her way to work, and we managed to get a wonderful present for Nathan's birthday. Well, WE all found it highly amusing! Oh! And I'm now the proud owner of ghost shaped glow in the dark salt and pepper pots, thanks to Jo's sharp vision, as well as a mug covered in roses and a silly pressie for my sister Debs.

I've discovered that Pierre's Bistro is open until 3pm on Saturday and that Watts coffee shop sells take out coffees at a fraction of the cost of Costas. Cocktails at Fats cost £2 and taste delish (unfortunately they no longer sell Gingerbread Man which was my favourite).

A quick food shop in Tescos resulted in discovering nice cheap cocktail stuff (we were still dreaming of the cocktails in Fats I think) - it's kinda coffin shaped in a black bottle with a purple label for the bargain price of £5!!!!! And Richard managed to find me some Bulls Blood.

We headed out to the Wheel after mother sorted out Richards hair (very surreal moment) and despite having a very panicky Emma I finally relaxed, as Ian, Doug, Karen, Dean and Julie all failed (thankfully) to turn up at the Wheel and make me feel awkward. So I had a brilliant night (*waves at and thanks Ali for putting on some goth tunes at the start of the evening*). Breakfast was pretty funky too! (Richard does good tomatoes J)

Lots of DVDs (and after quoting virtually all of Labyrinth) and some vegetable peeling later, we headed round to the shop for ice-cream and a play on the swings and spinning thing.

All in all, I loved having them both here and hope it's a frequently repeated event! Indeed, Mark (who we bumped into on the way to the Wheel) is keen to go down to Brum and visit, so it's not just me who loves them both. I think Zen will be glad to have his owners full and undivided attention once more however. Sorry Zen, but I'm missing them too much right now to fuss you! Want them to come back NOW.

I'm off to bed as I'm up at 4:30am tomorrow. Ick!

Emmzo xx
