They have americanised it the special effects are so MIB and why does beetlebrox only have one head? I shall go watch it but I doubt it will ever in my opinion compete with the original, just like the American version of Bedazzled does not compare with the original starring Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. I am pleased they have made a remake full motion spectacular; its one of those films that truly deserve it. I am also pleased they have English ators within the film alongside American ones (works for me) but I will always be spoilt by the low budget Dr. Who naffness that the original was. Slapping the American glamour on quintessentially British icons tends to leave a very foul taste in my mouth and I have to wonder who is going to be benefitting from the royalties and box office sales. Lets hope its our British Film industry and not the excess and decadence that is called Hollywood.
Humm, maybe I'm a purist, but Ford doesn't really fit his description, the "thumb" should be a proper device, and lifting the Aliens soundtrack for the destruction of Earth (even if for the trailer?)...Zaphod also appears to be missing a head where it should be (on his shoulder, although does have three arms)...Trillian is being called "Trisha".
Thanks for this link! I've been extatically raving about this movie for 2 years now! A naff version of the trailer leaked a little while ago, but this loverly hires one makes me even more excited about it!
