I HATE cv writing.
I DO NOT like having to re-write several times.
I ESPECIALLY dislike removing all soul and energy from it, the bits that make it mine.

Thank you, all of you, for your help. You'll be pleased to know I don't intend to ask any of you ever again for help with CVs. Because you've I don't want to try your patience. I no sooner think I'm going in the right direction and someone contradicts someone elses advice... I'm getting dizzy and feel like I'm wasting my time and going round in circles.

Bugger it, it's staying as it is now. If I apply for any permanent jobs, I'll tweak accordingly but other than that, sod it.

Not the *nicest* of nights, but definately a *good* one if that makes sense. Sitting musing over a couple of words for several hours is never fun but I can deal when it's with a friend.

It doesn't sound like fun but I hope it does the trick and you get the job you want :). Rich explained about how hard the personal info it was.

I txted just seconds after you left telling him to tell you good luck with job hunting and moving to cambridge :), i hope you and richard will be very happy. In case he forgot to tell you :)

Talk about banging your head against a brick wall!

We got there in the end I think and hope but trying to make yourself sound interesting and quirky without sounding like a total geek / obsessed with porn... etc is a nightmare!!

Thanks for the good luck wishes. It'll all go on lj so you'll soon see if it goes horribly wibbly :)

I hate CV's too. I wish that you could write honestly about yourself. But Cvs in general make you sound like a plastic version, devoid of emotion and full of self promotion.
good luck with it. Dont worry all Cvs end up sounding a bit pompous.

Hope you get something you want.
Sympathies on the CV thing, i've had so many arguments with so called cv experts that i don't want to see one again.
They want me to do it their way.
I explain i don't want it to be yet another clone.
They say it's crap.
I tell them it's a matter of opinion and it's supposed to reflect my personality not their's.
*sigh* there's no convincing some people, what i've learned is make it how you want it.
The person it's aimed at won't care whether it's up to the latest fashion in cv's, it's you that matters. Just show them how great you are, and the bit's that make it your's may just make it stand out from the others :o).

*hugs and good luck*
