Hotmail issues...

[Level - Public] - comments left unscreened

So I know that the more tech savvy of you are going to berate me for still having a hotmail account, but I can't get into the blasted thing. For the past 24 hours at least, each time I try to login I get the following message;

Windows Live Hotmail was not able to sign in to your account at this time. Please try again later.

I've tried accessing from different computers on different networks (ie work and home) to no avail.

I've sent a couple of test emails to see if the account has been closed without my knowledge but so far, they haven't bounced.

I'm well below my space / size limit on my account.

Is anyone else having the same problem and if so, what did you do to resolve it? I've tried the windows online help thingymajig but to be perfectly honest, I'm now more confused than I was to begin with!!!

NB - I NEED to get into my email account to check up on potential job offers etc.

I've just logged in okay using it, although it remembered me from before (Firefox) and logged me in direct.

Worked okay for me via IE as well.

Another option could be to try and get Microsoft Messenger to log you in?

Work is IE, home is Firefox so it's definately not a browser issue.

It's very strange - I can log into msn messenger and windows live id recognises me / lets me log in but I just can't get into my email no matter what way I try to.

AH, I tried to email you earlier, but it bounced back. Basically it was asking if you guys wanted to pop over tomorrow eve for vids and halloween satsumas and other snackage if you are free? :)

Didn't your account get hacked, a while back? Could have something to do with that...Maybe contact hotmail helpdesk/try the secret question or forgotten password thing, to see if you can retrieve anything? Good luck! x

I honestly don't think it's anything to do with that. It isn't telling me that my password is wrong which I would have thought it would do if I'd been re-hacked.

my hotmail went a bit squiffy a few days ago... back to normal after about 2 days
