So, [livejournal.com profile] devalmont has put this post up about REPO! The Genetic Opera.

I don't think I can add much to it. Except to say it's currently one of my favourite films.

It's not for everyone, it's especially to be avoided if you don't like gore, blood, needles, knives and other things of that nature, so consider this a potential trigger warning. The subject matter (a future where organ failure is commonplace, and GeneCo will give you new body parts on a loan-repayment basis but if you fail to pay up, the Repo man will come and remove said organs...) isn't for everyone. Nor is the fact that it's a Rock Opera. Starring Sarah Brightman, Anthony Steward Head, Paris Hilton (DO NOT let that put you off, she's surprisingly good), Ogre from Skinny Puppy etc etc... with lots of scantily clad men and women.

However, if that doesn't put you off, please, please, PLEASE take a moment or several to check out the official site repo-opera.com. Listen to the soundtrack. Attack youtube and see what goodies it has. Best of all, buy it. And buy the soundtrack. And go tell Terrance Zdunich what you think of it.... or him.... this is him....

And if I need to elaborate on that, you just don't get me :P. EDIT - his website contains bugs and cockroaches, just so you know.

We'll be hosting a REPO! night at some point soon, so if you aren't sure, come along to that to test the waters. I'll even set up a 'chill out' room for those who really don't like it. But give it a go, if you remotely think you might enjoy it.

Because it, in my humble opinion, is made of win.

By the way, if anyone see's this for sale again, I will adore and worship you forever if you manage to get me one. I will of course reimburse (and I'll most probably manage to get one myself as I'm checking the site daily so probably best just to ping me and let me know they're for sale again when I think about it...);

If you're ok with seperating 'real life' and 'fiction', you might be ok but it is quite realistic in places (and thoroughly unrealistic in others), hence the warning sweetie. I don't want anyone to watch it under false illusions as it'd be horrible if it caused any of my buddies issues. *hug*

Zydrate comes in a little glass vial

Yes, it is indeed an excellent movie. We bought and watched the DVD last weekend and it jumped straight onto all of our favourite movie lists. And Mr. Zdunich is exceedingly hot :)

I'm there! Let me know when/where - I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie!

I most certainly will. It'll be announced with bells and whistles. Or you could just head over pretty much any night you fancied. We're not going to get sick of watching it any time soon!

I IMDB'd it after seeing the DVD advert. I read the synopis (full of spoilers, but I'm a bit like that if a film is very squicky - I don't deal well with big shocks in films like this) then looked up Blind Mag's song on YouTube- it's wonderful.

Think I may have to rent this one out (Not sure about buying unless I can get it uber-cheap).

In fact, I'm going to YouTube it again :)

ETA: Oooh, now that's good. Arthur says he likes the look of it so I might pick it up for him...then watch it myself, even if I have to skip the too-gory bits!

Given my icon its probably easy to guess my feelings on Repo, am amazing piece of creative genius, as it said in one review I read, an instant cult classic. :)

Saw it when I was over in america at the beginning of this month, and was instantly hooked I gotta say
